Flamenco Alegria Model Guitars

Tomas Delgado's Flamenco Alegria Guitars are some of the finest jewels of his instrument inventory. And no wonder. These beautiful instruments are named after Tomas' wife Alegria. Tomas' Flamenco guitars are very percussive instruments with an absolutely brilliant sound. Because of the tremendous pride in naming these beautiful high quality instruments after his wife, Tomas has developed two extraordinary models: the Premium Flamenco Alegria 1A and the Standard Flamenco Alegria 1B.

The Flamenco Alegria 1A Premum model Guitar is an upgrade to the Standard model in that Tomas hand selects the absolute finest looking and feeling material available including Port Ordford woods. In fact, the Flamenco Alegria 1A Premium Guitar is a first class version in that the entire guitar is handcrafted with Port Ortford Cedar - sides, back and top! Weight and overall density are prime variables in building each piece used for the sides and back of the Premium Flamenco Alegria model - it is aesthetically the best of the lot. Fustero tuners are included. The Flamenco Alegria 1A Premium Guitar is also available in a French polish or lacquer finish.

Tomas will also offer (subject to availability) German Schaller machine heads, Fustero tuners, Rodgers tuners, Gotoh tuners, Grover tuners or premium wooden tuning pegs for these Flamenco models. Of course, ebony fretboards are included in addition to nuts and saddles made of pure, solid bone.

The Standard model Flamenco Alegria 1B Guitar is constructed just like a traditional Gypsy flamenco guitar. The Cypress used to build the sides and back have been aged, like fine wine, for a minimum of 6-10 years. The guitar tops are made of high quality grade Cedar or Spruce, Western Red Cedar, German Spruce, Engleman Spruce, or Canadian Spruce among others.

The sides and back of the Flamenco Alegria 1B Guitar shown below are handcrafted with Cypress while the top is made with Cedar.

German Schaller machine heads, Fustero tuners, Rodgers tuners, Gotoh tuners, Grover tuners or premium wooden tuning pegs are also available. Ebony fretboards are included as are nuts and saddles made of bone.

Flamenco Negra

The Flamenco Alegria 1B Guitar can also be referred to as a Flamenca Negra. The difference between a Flamenca Negra and a Standard 1B model is that the sides and back are handcrafted with Palo Escrito. The top is made with Cedar. The Flamenco Alegria 1B Guitar is also available in a French polish or lacquer finish
